The Norwegian sorting technology company Tomra is to provide deposit system operator services in the Australian state of Victoria as part of a joint venture with the waste management company Cleanaway. The company Tomra Cleanaway Victoria has been awarded contracts to operate the container deposit system in Western Regional Victoria and Western Metropolitan Melbourne, which together cover about a third of the state. The company is a 50/50 partnership between Tomra Collection Pacific and Cleanaway, one of Australia's largest waste companies.
