Sorting technology specialist Tomra Recycling announced on 9 September that Lars Enge had been appointed its new executive vice president (EVP) with immediate effect. He takes over from Katrin Fricke, who had only held the role since June, having succeeded Volker Rehrmann who retired earlier this year. According to the company, Ms Fricke will pursue "new professional challenges outside Tomra".
Mr Enge has been with Tomra since March 2022, where he has been responsible for the Norwegian group's strategy. Over the past three years, he has successfully established "Tomra Horizon", its portfolio of adjacent business opportunities, which include Tomra Feedstock and Reuse. Prior to joining Tomra, Mr Enge held several leadership positions at fertiliser group Yara International. From 2018 to 2022 he served as CFO of Yara Europe.
"Tomra's recycling division has undergone an incredible journey since the acquisition of Titech in 2004," Mr Enge commented. He added that the underlying drivers to increase recycling rates across the globe continue to represent substantial growth potential for the group's sorting arm.
