Dutch waste management group Twence increased both revenue and earnings in the 2025 financial year. According to its annual report released in April, net revenue rose 11 per cent €162m. Profit after tax came in at €15.1m, up nearly 5 per cent compared with the prior year. Operating profit increased 11 per cent to €23.7m.
A municipally owned waste and energy company, Twence operates sites in Hengelo and Zenderen in the Netherlands where it processes residual household waste, commercial waste, bulky waste, construction and demolition waste, and biomass. A significant share of its revenue still comes from energy recovery of non-recyclable waste and biomass. At the same time, Twence is expanding its secondary raw material recovery, carbon capture, green gas production and regional energy supply activities.
Total waste inputs were broadly stable at 1.133 million tonnes in 2025, with shifts across individual waste streams. The amount of combustible waste edged up 3 per cent to 581,000 tonnes, while the amounts of sortable waste and of biomass for composting and anaerobic digestion were off more sharply. ...
