Unilin and Dieffenbacher partnering to sell MDF recycling technology

Full-scale plant in Bazeilles, France to start operating in September 2025

Unilin Technologies, the intellectual property division of the Belgian wood panels and flooring producer Unilin Group, and Dieffenbacher GmbH announced at the start of October that they have agreed to work together to market Unilin’s "Osiris" MDF fibre recycling technology. Unilin Technologies intends to licence the technology, for which two patent families have been registered, to other MDF/HDF manufacturers.

Talks are already underway with potential licencees, and the first licence agreements could be concluded this year. Thus far, the interested parties are primarily businesses based out of Europe and South-east Asia.

Under the new partnership agreement with Dieffenbacher, Unilin will name the German plant and machinery manufacturer as a preferred provider for its Osiris technology in negotiations with potential licence holders. Dieffenbacher can also provide technical support during the project planning, installation and commissioning phases.

The Germany company is now also in contact with interested parties from the MDF/HDF industry and intends to finalise the first orders in the coming months. The plan is that customers will enter into a licence agreement with Unilin Technologies when they order the technology....
