US: First PureCycle plant nearing start-up

PureCycle expects to process polypropylene waste into ultra-pure recycled granulate this quarter.

The first plastic recycling plant using the PureCycle technology is close to starting operations in Ironton in the US state of Ohio. The polypropylene plant had reached "mechanical completion", PureCycle announced on Tuesday. The project would now commence operational pre-start up, safety review processes and work towards initial pellet production. The company presently anticipates that it will be able to begin production in the second quarter of 2023.
