Veolia and Mistral AI: Generative AI as driver of the ecological transformation

French environmental services group Veolia is partnering with the technology company Mistral AI in a cooperation that will use generative artificial intelligence (AI) to optimise plant operations and processes in the water, waste and energy sectors. In addition to boosting efficiency, the cooperation is to "revolutionise" the way Veolia manages its resources and addresses complex environmental problems, the company announced last week.

"In practical terms, we are combining Veolia’s vast historical database on water, waste, and energy management with Mistral AI’s analytical capabilities," explained Veolia CEO Estelle Brachlianoff. "This will allow us to navigate an ocean of information at unprecedented speed, interpret it, and relay it to humans to help anticipate risks and modernise the supervision of industrial facilities and resources."
