The French environmental services group Veolia has completed the first quarter of 2022 with "very solid results", CEO Antoine Frérot reported in Paris today. The company recorded strong growth in revenue and earnings, which was due to the take-over of a large part of its competitor Suez's business outside of France, but also to organic growth.
For its world-wide waste management and recycling activities Veolia reported revenue of €3.8bn in the first quarter. Some €2.9bn of this total were generated by Veolia's pre-merger activities, which generated €2.5bn in the prior-year period.
