UK-based Vital Energi Utilities Limited has taken over a biomass power plant under construction in Port Clarence in the Teesside region of north-east England and will convert it to run on refuse-derived fuel (RDF). The regional subsidiary of Dutch N+P Group will supply the plant with fuel during its first ten years of operation, the two companies announced in late November.
Vital Energi did not disclose the purchase price. The company reported that it had recently completed a £175m Nordic bond issue, equivalent to about €200m. The previous owner of the plant was investor Nuveen Infrastructure, which traded as Glenmont Infrastructure until March 2024....
