Northern Italian waste management company Herambiente opened a recycling plant for carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) last year and is now entering the rigid plastics recycling business through its subsidiary Aliplast. At the same time, the company is seeking to expand its integrated waste management solutions business.
To secure new international cooperation partners, for instance for the use of refuse-derived fuels (RDF) and other alternative fuels, Herambiente exhibited at the IFAT trade fair for the first time this year, sales director Fabrizio Salieri, told EUWID at the event held in Munich in early May.
Herambiente operates more than 90 waste management plants in Italy and organises logistics, recovery or disposal of municipal waste and municipal-derived streams as well as industrial - hazardous and non-hazardous - waste throughout the country. The waste is treated at a mix of Italian and foreign facilities, with Herambiente balancing available domestic capacity against the additional logistical and notification requirements associated with exports to plants outside the country.
