The copper price rally has taken a breather. While the LME copper price reached a record high of over 13,300 $ in mid-January, it fell by almost 400 dollars during the past week. There were also price reductions on the metals recycling market.

According to the news agency MBI, the price of copper scrap fell by €30 per 100 kilograms on the German market compared to the week before. Prices for brass scrap decreased by €5-€10 per 100 kg, depending on the grade.

There were also price reductions for higher-quality aluminium scrap grades, with pure aluminium wire and profile cuttings losing €5 per 100 kg. Prices for zinc scrap and the stainless steel scrap alloys V2A and V4A remained unchanged compared to the previous week.
