After jumping at the end of September, the LME copper price once again headed lower. In working week that began on 14 October, the prices continued to fall and now stand more than $500 below those posted at the start of the month. Cooling prices on the metal exchange also sent copper scrap falling again on the German non-ferrous scrap metals market.
The news service MBI reported only a modest decline in the wholesale buying-in price for copper scrap of €5 per 100 kilogrammes last week. Brass scrap lost €5-10 in weekly comparison, while the higher aluminium scrap grades edged higher....
