Prices on the metal exchanges fell during the second week of June. By the middle of the past week, the LME copper price was around $500 per tonne lower than in the week before. Aluminium also lost around $200 per tonne. This also led to price reductions on the non-ferrous metals recycling market.
According to the news agency MBI, wholesale purchasing prices for copper scrap on the German market fell by €10 to €15 per 100 kilograms, depending on the grade. Prices for brass scrap remained stable, as did zinc and lead scrap and the stainless steel scrap grades V2A and V4A. In the aluminium scrap segment, only the higher-value grades covered by MBI, namely pure aluminium wire and extrusion cuttings, recorded price reductions. They traded at €10 per 100 kg less than in the previous week.
