The copper price on the London Metal Exchange is climbing once more. After falling in the middle of February, the LME price increased by around $500 per tonne in the final days of the month, back to above the $13,000 mark. Prices on the metals recycling market also rose in past week.
According to the news agency MBI, wholesale purchasing prices on the German market for copper scrap increased by €40-45 per 100 kilogrammes compared to the week before, depending on the grade. Brass scrap gained €20-40 per 100 kg. Prices for zinc scrap and lead scrap rose by €15 and €5, respectively.
Aluminium scrap also recorded price increases between €5 and €10 per 100 kilogrammes in the final week of February. Prices for the stainless steel scrap grades V2A and V4A remained unchanged, according to MBI.
