EU recovered paper exports hit 4.9 million tonnes after record low in previous year

The 27 EU member states exported more recovered paper to destinations outside the European Union ("third countries") last year. Compared to 2021, when exports to third countries reached an 18-year low, extra-EU shipments increased by 12 per cent to 4.9 million tonnes. In contrast, imports of recovered paper into the EU fell slightly, edging 1 per cent lower to 2.4 million tonnes.
