
The Italian recovered paper market had not yet fully settled down in July. While the ordinary grades no longer experienced the sizable price cuts seen in the past few months, smaller downward corrections were still implemented in July.
It could already be felt in July that the traditionally quiet summer holiday month of August was approaching. Demand from Italian paper and board mills was not very lively, although a certain revival in exports to Asia did help to partially offset this.
Deinking grades followed the downward trend and became cheaper, too. By contrast, the higher grades of recovered paper saw mostly stable prices.
