After a long period of relative stability, gate fees for the incineration of municipal waste in dedicated waste to energy plants slumped on the German market in September and October and then stabilised somewhat in November and December. Lower waste volumes were one of the factors contributing to the fall in treatment prices. While the amount of municipal waste only decreased slightly, significantly lower quantities of commercial waste were available for energy recovery, market participants told EUWID....
