After many months of falling prices, the PET recycling market in Germany became noticeably calmer in September. In many cases, insiders reported unchanged buying and selling prices, with just a few reports of minor markdowns for bottles. The market had bottomed out and was stabilising at a low level, market players stated.
There have yet to be substantial sales of flakes, but recyclers are sensing more interest from customers. The significant price differential with virgin PET is contributing to the renewed interest....
