German waste textiles market remains oversupplied

The waste textiles market in Germany has barely changed since early June and things are seasonally quiet, according to the majority of respondents surveyed by EUWID. As is typical in summer, and due to the hot weather, the volumes of goods landing in collection containers are somewhat lower. However, this does not seem to put a dent in the widespread excess supplies of original collected stock.

There continues to be a lot of collected stock being offered: New suppliers are generally being turned away and only existing partners being served. Apparently, sorters’ inventories are "too good”; this applies to both unsorted and sorted goods. In some cases, in light of sluggish sales of sorted goods, sorters are extending their summer holiday shutdowns.
