German waste wood prices fall slightly

Prices for waste wood for energy recovery have edged lower on the German market. While in the east, prices have remained relatively stable compared with summer levels, in the north-west, and above all in the south, prices have continued to decrease at a moderate pace, according to the newest EUWID waste wood market report.

The industry as a whole viewed the coming winter with equanimity, given good arisings and good inventory levels. Processors have been able to improve pricing for intake material, and so were generally able to broaden their margins which had come under pressure.
