As the year 2024 draws to a close, recovered paper prices in Germany are continuing to slide. For the ordinary grades mixed paper (1.02) and supermarket paper and board 1.04), market participants anticipate prices will tumble by €10-20/t in December. Smaller reductions are expected for sorted graphic paper for deinking (1.11).
For January, on the other hand, market participants expect the price erosion to come to an end, driven by an uptick in export activity and the conclusion of the extensive downtime measures in the paper industry.
During November, the general downtrend in recovered paper prices continued on the German market.
