Wholesale purchasing prices for non-ferrous scrap metals have moved sideways on the German market in the past week. Although the LME copper price rebounded by nearly US$200 per tonne after falling at the turn of the month, the simultaneous weakening of the dollar kept euro prices for copper and copper scrap flat.
According to the news agency MBI, prices for all copper scrap grades remained unchanged in the second full week of August.
Brass scrap, old zinc scrap, old lead scrap, and the stainless steel scrap grades V2A and V4A also fetched stable prices. Prices for the aluminium scrap grades covered by MBI likewise held steady at the previous week’s level.
