After a turbulent second quarter with extreme volatility and explosive price increases, the summer months brought greater stability to the Polish recovered paper market. The current downward trend was first observed in August and spread so that by September at the latest all areas of the market were affected.
As is often the case when prices are shifting, the Polish market was more dynamic than its counterpart in neighbouring Germany, since less Polish paper is tied up in long-term or index-linked contracts. This enables players to react more flexibly and quickly to changes in the market.
The quarterly EUWID report on the recovered paper market in Poland covers supermarket paper and board (1.04), new shavings of corrugated board (4.01), graphic paper for deinking (1.11) and white woodfree uncoated shavings (3.18.01).
