Recovered paper prices in the UK remained largely stable or showed only minor fluctuations in July. Market participants are agreed that European paper manufacturers have now withdrawn entirely from the British recycling market.
At the same time, interest from Asia has picked up noticeably again, although opinions still vary on the volume of recovered paper which is actually exported.
Despite these differences, there is broad agreement that the market has calmed considerably, with the turbulence of recent months giving way to a more balanced situation.
