These are turbulent times on European markets for finished paper and board, with a flurry of price hikes in the graphic and packaging paper markets. Nevertheless, the Polish recovered paper market remained surprisingly calm in the first quarter. Players unanimously reported that in the period since December, conditions had been stable and prices had moved sideways, noting that this combination of conditions had not been seen for some time.
