Recovered paper auctions in Italy staged by the consortium Comieco on 6 March ended with very high prices and quite one-sidedly in favour of one major buyer. Since the auction is often viewed as an indicator of market sentiment, many insiders anticipate upward pressure on prices for ordinary recovered paper grades in Italy.
At the March auction, buyers secured volumes for the next three months, snapping up recovered paper that they will receive from April to June. Altogether, almost 200,000 tonnes of recovered paper was auctioned off....
