EUWID's recent market reports for both primary commodity plastics and PET markets in Germany reveal the dramatic impact the current Middle East conflict is having on both prices and material availability.
While primary PET produced in Europe was still available in Germany as of late March and early April, imports from Asia had dried up. Demand for PET bottles and preforms was, however, described as "normal for the time of year". The erratic weather around Easter had prevented demand from rising more sharply than anticipated.
