A slump in arisings is leaving its mark on Germany’s market for the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) at the moment. At the same time, plant operators are faced with higher costs for energy, logistics and wages and in some instances, with a further decline in revenue from the sale of recycled raw materials. Because of these factors, treatment prices would have had to be adjusted, but this has not happened to date because of increased competition for scrap appliances that are becoming scarcer....
