The new waste shipment rules have taken effect on 1 January 2025.

In summer 2024, the European Commission began the process of tightening the EU’s rules for trans-border shipments of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) to harmonise them with amendments to the Basel Convention. The Commission’s two Delegated Regulations amending the old and the new versions of the EU Waste Shipments Regulation (WSR) have now been formally adopted and published in the Official Journal of the European Union in December....
