The implementing decision sets out requirements for imports and for the mass-balance accounting of chemically recycled PET.

The Technical Adaptation Committee (TAC) on Waste adopted the European Commission’s draft implementing decision clarifying the Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD) on Friday. The decision, among other things, adopts the proposed mass balance approach for recycled content in single-use PET beverage bottles produced via chemical recycling, Valentijn de Neve, president of Chemical Recycling Europe (CRE) and chief executive of recycling technology provider Blue Alp, reported on LinkedIn.

CRE welcomed the result of the committee vote last Friday as a "milestone for circular plastics in Europe"....
