The digitalisation of transboundary waste shipment procedures was a key objective of the revised EU Waste Shipment Regulation (WSR) which was adopted in 2024. Intended to reduce administrative burdens and improve enforcement, the switchover from a paper-based to an electronic approach moved a step closer yesterday when the Commission published rules to govern the future "Digital Waste Shipment System" (DIWASS)....
