In April, the European Parliament gave its approval to the compromise on the proposed EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). However, because the interinstitutional agreement was reached so late in the legislative term, the text could not be finalised prior to June's European elections and the Parliament voted on a preliminary English version of the Regulation.
A date has now been set for the newly seated Parliament to take up the finalised text, which will have undergone the necessary translation and legal-linguistic review.
