France continues to back notification obligation for waste textile exports

At last month's meeting of EU environment ministers, French representatives once again urged the EU to push for stricter rules governing the transboundary shipments of textile waste to developing countries at next year’s 17th conference of the parties to the Basel Convention.

The desired amendments should be shared with partners in third countries in advance, said Cyril Piquemal, France's Deputy Permanent Representative to the European Union, during a debate on the EU Waste Framework Directive in mid-June....
