France has postponed the entry into force of its ban on single-use beverage cups containing plastic. The finance and environment ministries formalised the postponement in a decree published in the French Official Journal on 30 December. Originally, the ban was due to take effect on 1 January 2026.
The French government plans to present a follow-up assessment by 2028 to monitor industry progress in developing viable alternatives to beverage cups containing plastic....
