Russian Federation sets new tariff quotas for steel scrap exports

Russia introduced new tariff quotas on ferrous scrap exports, effective 1 June. According to a government decree issued at the end of May, exports of up to 540,000 tonnes will be subject to a duty of €100 per tonne. Should exports exceeding this threshold, a duty of €290 per tonne will be levied.

The decree is set to expire at the end of July and covers only exports to countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)....
