As part of the upcoming revision of the EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD), the European Commission's services are "considering further defining reusable packaging to ensure that reusable packaging is part of a reuse system that incentivises consumers to return it", according to an answer to a parliamentary question. The response of EU Environment Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius was released in mid-May.
In her written question, the Spanish MEP María Soraya Rodríguez Ramos had asked about the classification of ceramic packaging in the PPWD.
