The European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (EuRIC) is drawing attention to the difficult situation currently facing players on the textiles recycling markets in several European countries. The organisation is calling for immediate action to prevent "irreversible economic and environmental damage". In addition to the rising costs affecting all businesses, textile sorters had to contend with a drop-off in global sales while there was no viable alternative business model for domestic or fibre recycling. Discarded textiles stood to end up in waste incinerators without being reused or recycled, cautioned EuRIC....
