Copper scrap prices head sharply higher again in Germany

In the wake of rising index quotes, prices for copper scrap and other scrap metals have risen significantly in Germany of late.

The LME copper price maintained the significant gains it made early in April and settled above the $9,200 per tonne mark last week. On the German non-ferrous scrap metal market, copper scrap prices continued to rise sharply as the new working week started on 15 April.

According to news service MBI, the wholesale buying-in price for copper scrap rose and both brass and red brass scrap prices headed higher....
