The European Parliament's Environment Committee will vote on Thursday on whether to raise objections to a draft Implementing Decision from the European Commission which addresses how chemically recycled plastic is to be counted toward recycled content targets.
The draft Implementing Decision is to set out how recycled plastic content including material from chemical recycling processes which is incorporated in single-use plastic bottles is to be calculated, verified and reported. It is intended to supplement and supersede an Implementing Decision from the end of November 2023, which only covered calculation and reporting methods for recycled content from mechanical recycling processes....
