AEB Amsterdam to incinerate waste imported from Rome

Dutch waste to energy plant operator AEB Amsterdam will treat Italian waste in the coming years and "help solve the waste crisis in Rome". According to an announcement made last week, baled waste will be delivered to AEB by rail, with each shipment comprising 16 wagons.

The company did not disclose any of the financial details of the deal, but said that the incineration of the waste in AEB's highly efficient energy from waste (EfW) was more environmentally friendly than landfilling it in Italy.
