Austria's Federal Competition Authority (BWB) has released new information about its investigation of an alleged cartel in the waste management sector last week. According to the BWB, the suspected anti-competitive behaviour is now believed to have gone on for nearly 20 years. The first company to be named in connection with the matter is FCC Austria Abfall Service AG.
However, the subsidiary of Spain’s FCC group will not be subject to any fines because it has been granted leniency due to its extensive cooperation in the investigations, BWB said. Other companies, however, may face significant financial sanctions....
