Cost-cutting, pricing key to WM's strong finish in 2023

Boosted by particularly strong fourth quarter performance, the US market leader Waste Management Inc. (WM) posted consolidated revenue of $20.43bn (ca €19bn) for 2023, an increase of around 4 per cent year-over-year. CEO Jim Fish noted that the "remarkably strong finish to 2023" had led to operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (operating Ebitda) of $5.65bn, also a 4 per cent annual increase.
