Boosted by particularly strong fourth quarter performance, the US market leader Waste Management Inc. (WM) posted consolidated revenue of $20.43bn (ca €19bn) for 2023, an increase of around 4 per cent year-over-year. CEO Jim Fish noted that the "remarkably strong finish to 2023" had led to operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (operating Ebitda) of $5.65bn, also a 4 per cent annual increase. With that, WM had reached the midpoint of its original operating Ebitda guidance for the year, despite having downgraded its projections in July due in part to soft recyclate prices. ...
