French group Derichebourg reported lower sales for its scrap recycling and environmental services operations in the first quarter of its current financial year last Thursday. The division’s turnover in the three-month period ended 31 December 2011 stood at € 516 million, down 8 per cent compared to one year before. The total tonnage of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap handled by the company in the past quarter also declined by 8 per cent to 1.046 million tonnes.
