Dutch Ecore group moves into a new region in France through the acquisition of scrap metals recycler Metalifer based in Strasbourg. Announcing the take-over on Wednesday, Ecore described Metalifer as a leading recycling company in Eastern France with eleven sites and stakes in several other companies. With more than 150 employees, the company processes about 400,000 tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap a year, and its turnover in 2011 was close to €150, according to the new owner. The value of the transaction, which was carried out through Ecore subsidiary Guy Dauphin Environnement, was not disclosed.
