Edwin Leijnse, chairman of the management board of German ferrous scrap recycler TSR, will leave the company at the end of September. The decision to resign had been made for personal reasons, TSR announced on 4 September.

Mr Leijnse, a Dutch national, has chaired the TSR board of management since September 2012, following his return to the company in 2011. He had already once served as its chief financial officer between 2001 and 2006.

Max Köttgen, chair of the TSR advisory board and board member of TSR’s main shareholder, the German waste management group Remondis, expressed the company’s “heartfelt thanks to Edwin Leijnse for his excellent work in recent years”. He said Mr Leijnse agreed to remain available to TSR in a consulting capacity after his departure.

TSR provided no information as to Mr Leijnse’s successor. Besides the board chairman, the company’s management currently consists of Ulrich Althoff, Wolfgang Kämper, Bernd Fleschenberg und Hermann Holstein.
