Encyclis is seeking an environmental permit for an energy recovery facility to be built on in Corby in Nothhamptonshire. The plant is be located in the Willowbrook East Industrial Estate and to treat up to 357,408 tonnes of municipal solid waste and similar commercial and industrial (C&I) waste per year. According to documents supporting the Environment Agency's permit hearing, the plant is expected to generate electricity only, but would be technically capable of producing heat as well. The facility is to be built as single-line, moving grate, combustion plant. Earlier iterations of the plant's design that were presented to local planning authorities in recent years included pyrolysis and gasification waste treatment facilities....
