The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association (ETRMA) reported that the recovery rate of used tyres (UT) stood at 96 per cent in 2010. Around 3.3m tonnes of used tyres were processed in an environment friendly way, an increase of 2 per cent in arisings compared to 2009. According to the association, an increase of 10 per cent in material recovery was observed in 2010.
