German recycling and waste management group Interseroh has closed the year 2010 above budget and recorded the second-best result in its 20-year history. While the company's turnover increased by 53 per cent from €1.3bn in 2009 to €1.94bn in 2010, pre-tax earnings (EBT) improved from €3.8m to €45.7m, the company announced in Cologne on Tuesday. Management board chairman Axel Schweitzer reported that all of the company's three divisions had developed in a very positive manner in 2010. Against the background of rising demand for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, high-quality secondary raw materials and recovered paper, Interseroh benefited in particular from its large network of operating and trading sites in Germany and abroad, according to Mr Schweitzer.
