German scrap recycling and waste management group Interseroh SE views its business activities as successful during the ongoing financial year despite the difficult market conditions, the Alba Group subsidiary said while announcing its results for the first nine months of 2011. According to the company report, consolidated group sales in the period from January to September 2011 climbed from €1.449bn to €1.845bn, while earnings before interest and tax (Ebit) amounted to €41.6m. The company's earnings before taxes (Ebt) stood at €33million.

According to Interseroh, the company's steel and non-ferrous metals recycling division benefited from improved margins, a slight increase in sales volumes and higher prices than in the same period last year. However, the raw materials trading and the services divisions were impacted by difficult market conditions.
