American aluminium producer Novelis is expanding its recycling activities in Germany. The company commissioned a new €14 million recycling plant at the headquarters of its German subsidiary Aluminium Norf GmbH (Alunorf) in Neuss on Tuesday. According to Novelis, the twin-chamber melting furnace and processing plant will annually recycle 50,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap and feed Alunorf's rolling mills. The new plants will recycle manufacturing scrap from Novelis' customers as well as from its own facilities, the company added.
