The environmental activities of French plastics converter Plastic Omnium generated €500m in revenues in 2011. The increase of 6 per cent on the prior year could be in part attributed to its takeover of the German underground waste container manufacturer Rotherm in May 2011, the company noted in a statement accompanying the release of its annual financial report. Sulo Umwelttechnik GmbH has been a part of the division since 2007. Higher prices for raw materials depressed the division's operating profit excluding extraordinary items, which amounted to €23m after standing at €26m in 2010, reported Plastic Omnium.
